What it is
The thymus is the organ where immune cells learn what to attack and what to leave alone. Thymosin alpha-1 is a peptide from that organ.
How it works
It mainly steers T cells and influences their maturation and activity. The literature describes it as modulating rather than stimulating: it shifts the balance instead of turning everything up.
What the research shows
Clinical research has been done in viral infections and in combination with other treatments. In a number of countries it is registered as a medicine, which clearly sets its level of evidence apart from the preclinical substances in this library.
Research status
Approved in a number of countries; the research product is not that.
Practical
A chain of 28 amino acids: longer and so more sensitive than the short peptides. Keep cool.
